Grandma's Bread

3 cups of warm whey or water
2 ½-3 table spoons of dry yeast
3 tea spoons of salt
4-5 table spoons of vegetable oil
½ -2/3 cup of sugar
7½- 8 cups of unbleached flour

In a large bowl mix well all ingredients and 4 cups of flour (the rest of the flour will be added later). Put the bowl in a warm place and leave the dough to rise.

Stir in the rest of the flour one 1/2 cup at a time until the dough becomes elastic. Baste the dough with a bit of  oil and put it back into the bowl. Cover with a dump towel and put away in a warm place to rise.

Punch down the dough and let it sit for 15 minutes in a warm place.  Divide the dough into two pieces and put each piece into oiled 12 inch by 4 1/2 inch loaf pans.  Let it rise.

Preheat the oven to 390°F and bake the bread for about 40-45 minutes. 30 minutes after you started backing cover bread with aluminum foil so that the top doesn't get burned while the inside of the bread is baking.
